Overview

Kedarnath Yatra Package – A Sacred Himalayan Pilgrimage

The sacred shrine of Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and among the most significant pilgrimage destinations in India. Located at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 ft) in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarnath is surrounded by towering snow-clad peaks, pristine glaciers, and the sacred Mandakini River flowing nearby. The temple holds immense spiritual importance and is a key part of the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand. Reaching Kedarnath itself is a memorable experience, as pilgrims undertake a scenic 16 km trek starting from Gaurikund. The route passes through breathtaking landscapes of forests, waterfalls, mountain valleys, and rivers, making the journey both spiritually uplifting and visually captivating. For those seeking alternative travel options, ponies, palkis, and helicopter services are also available. The Kedarnath pilgrimage is not only about devotion but also about experiencing the serenity of the Himalayas. Pilgrims often explore nearby spiritual and natural attractions such as Gandhi Sarovar, Vasuki Tal, and the sacred river confluences known as the Panch Prayag along the journey.

Itinerary

Your spiritual journey begins early morning with departure from Haridwar, heading towards the Himalayan foothills. The drive passes through the yoga capital Rishikesh and continues towards the sacred confluence at Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to form the holy Ganga. En route, pilgrims can seek blessings at the revered Dhari Devi Temple before continuing through the scenic mountain town of Srinagar. The journey then leads to Rudraprayag, a sacred river confluence, before finally reaching Guptkashi by evening. Surrounded by the serene Himalayan landscape, enjoy dinner and relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Begin the day with an early morning drive from Guptkashi to the pilgrimage base point at Gaurikund, located at an altitude of about 1,980 meters. From here, the sacred 16 km trek to Kedarnath Temple begins. The trek route offers breathtaking views of lush valleys, flowing streams, waterfalls, and the majestic Himalayan peaks. Pilgrims can choose to trek on foot or opt for ponies and palkis depending on convenience. Upon arrival at Kedarnath, visit the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and experience the deeply spiritual atmosphere of the shrine. Spend the evening exploring the serene surroundings of the temple complex. Overnight stay in Kedarnath at a guesthouse or dharamshala.

Start your morning with an optional early darshan at the sacred Kedarnath Temple, where the peaceful Himalayan environment enhances the spiritual experience. After seeking blessings, begin the descent trek back towards Gaurikund along the same scenic trail. Pilgrims may pause at Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and again at Devprayag to witness the beautiful meeting points of Himalayan rivers that hold immense religious significance.
